New Webpage Available for OTI Licensing Public Notice

The Commission issued a direct final rule that became effective on September 22, 2014 amending 46 CFR Part 515 of the Commission’s rules. The rule modification allows the Commission to publish its notices concerning Ocean Transportation Intermediaries (OTIs), i.e, license applications, revocations, suspensions, surrenders, reissuances, and rescissions of revocations on its website instead of publishing this information in the Federal Register (FR).

To assist the public and shipping industry with this transition, the Commission will be publishing this information in both the FR and on the Commission’s website through October 17th.

Beginning October 20, 2014, our OTI licensing status information will only be published on the Commission’s website on our new OTI Licensing Updates page.

The new OTI Licensing Updates webpage was launched this month and allows quicker delivery of OTI notices. Self publishing this information saves the Commission FR publication costs and allows the FMC to improve the formatting and organization of this information to better serve the shipping public

If you have questions about the OTI licensing information posted on the FMC’s website, please contact the Commission’s Office of Ocean Transportation Intermediaries at 202-523-5843 or OTI@fmc.gov.
