The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) rose to the number nine spot on the “Best Places to Work in the Federal Government” rankings for Small Agencies as reported today by the Partnership for Public Service. The FMC placed 17th out of 28 small agencies on the list last year.

“The employees of the Federal Maritime Commission are dedicated to our agency’s mission, their individual roles in that effort, and our collective goal of ensuring competition and integrity for America’s ocean supply chain. I appreciate the hard work done by those who serve at the Commission and I am heartened to see these men and women view their jobs and their agency in such a positive manner,” said Acting Chairman Michael A. Khouri.

The Best Places to Work list, published annually, reports results of the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. The Office of Personnel Management conducts the annual survey to help agencies measure employees’ perceptions of whether, and to what extent, conditions characterizing successful organizations are present in their agency. The FMC uses these results along with other management resources to improve work processes, agency services, and organizational outcomes.
