FMC Launches Updated Carrier Agreement Library

March 24, 2017

The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) is pleased to introduce a redesigned, more user-friendly Agreements Library. This online library of carrier agreements makes it easier for the ocean transportation industry and members of the public to search for, identify, and review vessel-operating common carrier agreements directly through the Commission’s website.

The new Agreements Library is free of charge and can be accessed 24/7 through the FMC’s website. No login is required.

Key benefits of the new Agreements Library include:

  • Near real-time notice to the public of recently filed agreements and amendments;
  • Synopses of agreements and amendments, as well as filing and effective date information;
  • Availability of full text of nearly all effective agreements and amendments filings, including those previously available only upon request.

"By creating an easy to use gateway to a comprehensive collection of agreement filings, we are helping people save time, save money, and are providing more services to the public through a relatively small investment in our IT infrastructure," stated Acting Chairman Michael A. Khouri.
