Formal Docket Decisions/Issuances

Commission decisions/issuances related to adjudicatory and rulemaking proceedings conducted pursuant to the Shipping Act are available in hard copy (bound) format and electronic format. This collection can be used as a reference or research tool for information about historical Commission decisions or when preparing documents for filing with the Commission. A large portion of the collection is currently available in hard copy (November, 1919 through June, 1987), while more recent Commission issuances (July, 1987 to present) are available in electronic format.  For assistance in locating or requesting copies of historical Commission issuances, please contact our Docket Activity Library.

Electronic Format (July, 1987 – Present): Commission decisions issued between July, 1987 and present are currently available in electronic format and are listed below in chronological order.  

Bound Volumes of FMC Decisions (November, 1919 - June, 1987): Commission decisions  issued between November 1919 and June 1987 are available in hard copy.  These hard copy (bound) volumes of Commission decisions are available through purchase from the U.S. Government Printing Office ("GPO") at a price determined by GPO.  The Commission's Public Reference/Law Library also maintains a set of these bound volumes of Commission decisions and may be reviewed in the Library during regular hours of operation.

Searches may be limited to a single docket, or to a single section of the Docket Proceedings (for example, to Petitions only), or you may select All under the Docket Number and/or the Section drop-downs to search all dockets and sections. Searches may also be limited to a date or date range, or to a keyword in the docket title.

Searches are not case sensitive and partial words may be searched (no * required).  When searching across all sections, duplicate results have been eliminated from the search results list.  Search results will be displayed in a new window and are fully printable.
