The Director reports directly to the Chairman and is responsible for implementing the administrative directives of the Chairman. The Director oversees the agency's four administrative offices:
The Director also gives guidance or assistance on administrative matters (such as budgeting and information technology) to the other Offices of the Commission:
In addition, the Director is the agency's Chief Acquisition Officer, Audit Follow-up and Management Controls Official, Chief Financial Officer, and representative on the Small Agency Council. The Deputy Director is the agency's Chief Information Officer and Competition Advocate.
In addition to its management and oversight duties, the Office coordinates and/or prepares many of the important reports required to be submitted to Congress and/or various Federal agencies, such as the agency's Performance and Accountability Report, and the Federal Activities Inventory Reform Act Report.
